Meet our Tolix style metal side chair in vintage copper; a replica of the classic 1934 design by Xavier Pauchard. Ours retains the practicality and comfort of the original, but we've brought it up-to-date with a natural wood seat and a wide range of colours and finishes to choose from.

The designer of this classic bistro chair, Xavier Pauchard, started life as a zinc roofer. Through his work he found that he could protect metal household items from rusting by dipping them in the molten zinc he used to protect roofs, inaugurating one of the first methods of galvanization. He soon applied this to furniture, and over time, the Tolix chair was born.

Originally called the A chair, in 1956 he began selling it under the name Tolix to French cafes who were in need of a brand new, stylish, durable, and stackable chair. Since then it has become one of the most popular selling chairs of all time. We think the Xavier Pauchard Tolix metal chair is an essential component to any home, restaurant or commercial space.
